Anatomy
Cranium
Sahelanthropus Tchadensis had a relatively small sized cranium with the foramen magnum (Where the spine connects to the cranium) more anterior than other great apes suggesting early bipedalism. S. Tchadensis had a cranial capacity of roughly 360-380 cc while Pan Troglodytes (Chimpanzees) have 275-500 cc (roughly 400 cc). S. Tchadensis had a small sagittal crest and a large nuchal crest (Probably males). They also had a large ape-like Supraorbital torus
Dental
Sahelanthropus Tchadensis had 32 teeth, that is:
- 8 Incisors
- 4 Canines
- 8 Premolars
- 12 Molars
Genetics (Hypothetical)
Sahelanthropus Tchadensis likely had 48 chromosomes like all other great apes (Excluding Humans)
